Constructed Response Song

I recently had the privilege of going into Mrs. Knote's 3rd grade classroom (what LOVELY kiddos) to model how to do the Constructed Responses (part of the MontCAS state test). As I was prepping for this lesson, I thought..."How can I make this a little more exciting to engage the kids?"

So, I wrote a little song to the tune of "Sound Off". Mrs. Knote's class helped rewrite part of the lyrics, too! Click here for Sound Off Song Lyrics. Below is a video of THE ONE, THE ONLY....NONE OTHER THAN.... (drum roll) Mrs. Knote's class performing the "Constructed Response Song".

Rounding Chants, Raps, Rhymes, and More!

A teacher recently asked for some ideas to help her students remember how to round numbers. I found some great rounding chants, rhymes, and songs. Hope your students find these helpful!

WARNING: Be sure that students are experiencing the Investigating the Concept and the concrete experiences that go along with Rounding. It's important that they understand "why" they are rounding up, etc....not only just WHEN to do so.
